Giovani Bernard, Vontaze Burfict, Terence Newman miss Bengals practice

The Bengals could be without two defensive starters to go with two more on offense when they take on the Saints.

Just as the Bengals are set to get Leon Hall back, there's concern regarding their other starting cornerback, after Terence Newman didn't practice Thursday after missing Wednesday as well.

Newman is dealing with a knee injury that's putting his status for Sunday up in the air. Thankfully, the Bengals are deep at corner with Adam Jones, Dre Kirkpatrick and Darqueze Dennard all behind him, though Newman being out would still be a significant loss.

As for other Bengals missing Thursday, running back Giovani Bernard was held out, but he's already expected to miss this week while dealing with multiple injuries.

Linebacker Vontaze Burfict is also expected to be held out Sunday, so it was no surprise he too missed Thursday while recovering from a knee scope. Those two will likely be declared 'out' by Friday.

Andre Smith also missed Thursday and was seen in a walking boot, putting his status for Sunday in jeopardy.

Fellow starting tackle Andrew Whitworth got a rest day off Thursday.
