Bengals tackle Andre Smith leaves with ankle injury

The Bengals lost starting tackle Andre Smith to an ankle injury during their Week 9 contest vs. the Jaguars.

The Bengals may have suffered yet another injury to a key starter. During the second quarter of their Week 9 contest vs. the Jaguars, starting right tackle Andre Smith left the game with an ankle injury.

He did manage to leave the field under his own power, but the team called his return "questionable".

If he were to miss the rest of the game, Marshall Newhouse would replace him. He already gets a handful snaps in each games as a wing tackle, but he's not played in extensive snaps since the preseason.

With a calf injury to Andrew Whitworth during the preseason, Newhouse spent a lot of time playing LT while he was out. Then when Smith suffered a concussion, Newhouse was also forced into duty at his spot.

It's not ideal that Newhouse has to play, but he's got plenty of experience running with this line, so there will be some continuity there already.
