The Bengals escaped Sunday's win over the Jaguars without any serious injuries, but starting right tackle Andre Smith and cornerback Leon Hall may not be ready for the Browns on Thursday Night Football.
Smith tried to come back after injuring his ankle on Dalton’s 19-yard TD pass in the second quarter, but only lasted one series before Marshall Newhouse replaced him.
"He’s got a sprained ankle and he didn’t feel comfortable to be able to finish it out today," Marvin Lewis said following the game.
As for Hall, he got hit in the head late in the game in a collision with safety George Iloka. It was called a head injury initially, but we'll see what it's called once the Bengals get their first pre-Browns practice in. It's possible it was a concussion.
It didn't look like either was a multi-week injury, but with just four days between Sunday's game and Thursday's showdown with Cleveland, the short turnaround could force them to sit this one out.
