Jaguars sign Khairi Fortt off Bengals practice squad

Khairi Fortt initially joined the Bengals on Oct. 7 after the New Orleans Saints waived him.

The Bengals beat the Jaguars on Sunday, but Jacksonville managed to claim a minor win in the form of snagging one of Cincinnati's practice squad players.

With cornerback Will Blackmon placed on I.R., the Bengals had one free roster spot, and they used it to sign linebacker Khairi Fortt off the Bengals practice squad.

Fortt (6-2, 240) initially joined the Bengals on Oct. 7 after he was added to the roster as a waiver acquisition from New Orleans. He was inactive for his only eligible game vs. Carolina. He was waived from the roster on the following Tuesday before eventually re-signing with the team's practice squad.

The Saints originally spent their 2014 fourth round draft pick on the rookie linebacker out of Cal, but he eventually was on the injured reserve/designated to return list after sustaining a leg injury during Game 2 of the preseason. He was given the designation to return status on Sept 3, but the team waived him before he could return.
