As the Bengals hit the field Thursday for their second pre-Browns practice, defensive end Margus Hunt was absent once again. After injuring his ankle in Week 11, it now appears Hunt is set to miss his fourth straight game due to the injury.
This has become a lost season for the 2013 second-round pick that was expected to help replace Michael Johnson this year. In 10 games this year, Hunt has just seven tackles and one sack that came in garbage time vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars. The only god thing that's come from his absence is rookie Will Clarke is getting to be active and get a handful of snaps in what was supposed to be a redshirt season for the third-round pick out of West Virginia.
Rookie receiver James Wright wasn't back on the field Thursday. A knee injury cost him last week's game after a mini-breakout performance against the Buccaneers in Week 13. If the Bengals could get him back this week, he could continue his ascension into the No. 3 WR role, something he appeared to be taking from Brandon Tate before the injury.
Adam Jones was held out Thursday, putting his status for Sunday in question.
