UPDATE
About 10 minutes after Vinny headed to the locker room, he emerged and went back to the sideline while the Bengals announced he was cleared to return. It looks like he avoided a concussion.
***
As the Cincinnati Bengals were cruising in the fourth quarter vs. the Browns, the defense wasn't letting up, even with a 23-0 lead in their back pocket. That was highlighted on as play in which Vincent Rey and Rey Maualuga were going for a tackle, and Maualgua ended up hitting Vinny with a helmet-to-helmet.
The hit left Rey lying on the ground for about a minute before he was able to get to his feet. He and the training staff immediately headed back to the locker room, possibly to evaluate him for a concussion.
The injury is amplified by the fact Pro Bowl linebacker Vontaze Burfict was placed on injured reserve after being unable to recover from a knee procedure done in Week 10. If Vinny misses next week vs. the Broncos, that means Nico Johnson and Cris Carter are getting more reps against the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football.
