The Pro Bowl is on the minds of many fans who want to see their favorite players make it to the NFL's annual All-Star game. Fan voting ended this past Monday, and with it, one third of the Pro Bowl vote is in. Next Monday, the Bengals host the Broncos on Monday Night Football in a game that could feature anywhere between 6-to-10 Pro Bowlers.
The Bengals have several players playing at a Pro Bowl level, including safety George Iloka, defensive tackle Geno Atkins, defensive end Carlos Dunlap, offensive tackle Andrew Whitworth and wide receiver A.J. Green.
The Pro Bowl players are determined by the consensus votes of fans, players and coaches, with each group’s vote counting one-third toward determining the players. In total, 86 players (plus two long snappers) will be selected to the Pro Bowl.
Pro Football focus went ahead and released their rosters of players they think should be in this All-Star game, and two Bengals made their list.
Whitworth was a no-brainer, and he made their roster as a reserve tackle. However, the other Bengal to make it was a bit of a surprise, as Ryan Hewitt made it as a starting fullback. Hewitt actually is the second-best FB via PFF's grades, and of all FBs who've played in at least 25% of their team's snaps, Hewitt's 404 is second behind only Baltimore's Kyle Juszczyk.
