One week after Peyton Manning came down with the stomach flu, the Broncos are dealing with an illness to another star. player. Wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders missed Saturday’s practice with flu-like symptoms, which affected him on Friday, and it's not expected to hold him out of Monday's game vs. the Bengals.
He has two days to recover with Denver not playing until Monday night, but if he were to miss the game, Andre Caldwell sits behind Sanders on the depth chart. There's also rookie Cody Latimer, who has been cleared from the concussion protocol, but has yet to crack the rotation with Sanders, Wes Welker and Demaryius Thomas holding down the fort.
Sanders has notched 89 catches for 1,261 yards and seven touchdowns, all career-highs in his first season with the Broncos. Expect to see him Monday against a stingy Bengals defense that sports one of the best secondaries Denver will face in the regular season.
