Report: Marc Trestman and Phil Emery fired by Chicago Bears

According to multiple reports, the Chicago Bears fired head coach Marc Trestman and general manager Phil Emery on Monday morning.

The Chicago Bears are parting ways with head coach Marc Trestman and general manager Phil Emery following a disastrous 2014 campaign.

Trestman went 13-19 over his first two seasons with no playoff appearances and a loaded offense with the likes of Brandon Marshall, Alshon Jeffery, Martellus Bennett and Matt Forte. Trestman never seemed to find any consistency with quarterback Jay Cutler, who Emergy signed to a seven-year extension worth $126 million with $54 million guaranteed.

This opening should be one of the more attractive destinations for potential head-coaching candidates, especially for someone with an offense mind. On the other hand, Chicago's defense needs help and may bode well for a defensive-minded coach.
