NFL Free Agency Rumors: Dolphins Targeting Eugene Monroe

The Dolphins could be targeting the Ravens' biggest free agent on the offensive line, and that's good news for the Bengals.

The Miami Herald reports Notre Dame offensive tackle  Zack Martin could be an option for the Dolphins at No. 19, but the Dolphins may also pursue Ravens free agent tackle Eugene Monroe.

The report says Miami plans to pursue Monroe if he reaches the open market. Either way, the Dolphins have to find a tackle in free agency or the NFL draft, and Bengals free agent tackle Anthony Collins could be one of their targets. Hopefully, they are able to sign Monroe away from the Ravens and damage Cincinnati's biggest threat to the AFC North title in 2014.

The New Orleans Saints have talked with the reps of running back Pierre Thomas and his future with the team.

Thomas is considered a cap-casualty candidate because the Saints could cut him loose and save $2.9. Whether they choose to or not will likely depend on what the team is able to do with free agent tight end Jimmy Graham. Thomas led the Saints in rushing last season with 549 yards, averaging 3.7 yards per carry, along with two rushing touchdowns.

CBS' Jason La Canfora reports the Raiders are "mulling" free agent quarterback Michael Vick, but that the Texans are seen as a likely landing spot for Vick.

He also reports the Jets, rumored to be the front-runners for Vick, are an unlikely landing spot. The Eagles also remain in play, but Vick's No. 1 goal is to sign with a team where he can compete for the starting job.

Yahoo Sports' Rand Getlin reports the Atlanta Falcons free safety Thomas DeCoud will be released by the fourth day of the new league year.

The move would clear $3 million in cap space. DeCoud fell off a cliff in 2013 as he ranked among the worst safeties in the NFL, so much so that he may not be nothing more than a backup in 2014. The Bengals may look at him as a backup to Reggie Nelson and George Iloka if they don't believe Shawn Williams is a suitable backup and Taylor Mays leaves in free agency.
