The Miami Dolphins selected Oregon defensive end/linebacker Dion Jordan in the first-round after they gave up last year’s 12th and 42nd overall picks to take him with the third overall pick. Needless to say, they've got a lot invested into him, but may already be ready to move on from him, according to CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora:

It's hard to imagine the Dolphins are already convinced they'd be better off without him, but nevertheless, if they can get what they deem fair value for him, Jordan could be playing for his second NFL team in as many years. They barely played him as a rookie, and now new Dolphins General Manger Dennis Hickey already wants to see what he can get for the former Oregon great.
As a first-year starter in 2011, Jordan recorded 42 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, and 7.5 sacks. He was named a first-team All-Pac-12 selection in 2012 after notching 44 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, and five sacks. Jordan is still pretty raw, but potential is something another team may covet enough to surrender a first-round pick in this year's draft, which is the least Miami should be willing to accept for Jordan.
The guys at Over the Cap actually proposed this idea a month ago, and here are some of the financial implications of trading Jordan:
If traded the situation would be somewhat similar to the situation with RB Trent Richardson, who was traded last year from the Browns to the Colts. When traded all of the future guaranteed salaries transfer to the new team, leaving the drafting team’s responsibility to simply be the prorated bonus charges remaining in the contract. That is still a hefty figure, but much more reasonable than an outright release.
The Dolphins, if seriously considering this option, would need to make the trade sometime before the 5th day of training camp. If Jordan is on the roster as of that day the team would have to pay him $845,104.
