Pat Sims still waiting for NFL Teams to Call

If the Bengals want to add some depth along the defensive line for the coming season, a familiar name is still sitting on the market, waiting to be signed for perhaps a team-friendly deal.

After inking a one-year, $1.75 million contract with the Oakland Raiders last year, defensive tackle Pat Sims went on to have a career year, starting 16 games and finishing with 54 tackles, two sacks and a +14.7 grade from Pro Football Focus. That was the 16th-best by a DT who played in at least 50% of his team's snaps.

This, after four subpar seasons in Cincinnati as a backup DT, but he was still a serviceable run-stuffer and will be a nice addition for whomever signs him.

Sims has already said he's open to returning to Oakland, but it doesn't appear the interest is mutual, and now it appears Sims won't be back in Oakland:

To this point, he's only visited the Tennesse Titans, and there appears to close to no market for his services. Pro Football Focus tabbed him as the 57th-best free agent available this offseason. Needless to say, someone is going to get a steal when they sign him for what will probably be a small deal with not a lot of guaranteed money.

The Bengals have reportedly agreed to a new deal with Domata Peko, so that could end any discussion of signing Sims. But with Geno Atkins recovering from a torn ACL, not to mention backups Brandon Thomas and Devon Still not exactly setting the world on fire, perhaps Sims will draw interest from the Bengals if he continues to be overlooked by other teams.
