Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reports that the Ravens and free agent LT Eugene Monroe are "far apart" in contract negotiations.

Monroe joined the team in October of last year after trading a fourth-round and fifth-round draft pick to the Jacksonville Jaguars to acquire him. As the blindside protector for quarterback Joe Flacco, Monroe is extremely valuable to the Ravens, and losing him would be a big setback.

The Houston Chronicle's John McClain continues to believe the Texans will select a quarterback with the No. 1 overall pick.

Unless the team believes Case Keenum is the answer, that's probably the truth. The only question is whether they prefer Johnny Manziel, Blake Bortles or Teddy Bridgewater.

Mike Florio of Profootballtalk.com reports that the Dolphins are not expected to place the franchise tag on free agent CB Brent Grimes before Monday's 4PM ET deadline.

Last year, Grimes signed a one-year, $5.4 million contract with the Dolphins, a year after being tagged by the Falcons. Grimes had ruptured an Achilles tendon in Week One of the 2012 season, but bounced back in 2013 and started all 16 games in 2013 and grabbed four interceptions.
