NFL Free Agents who can be Signed Now

A look at who is currently able to be signed by any NFL team before the start of free agency.

Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

The start of NFL free agency doesn't officially began for another week, but that doesn't mean the Bengals can't go out and sign players right now. Between now and March 11, players who's contracts expire cannot be signed by a team, but anyone who's been released this offseason can be signed. Here is a look at the players who've had their contracts terminated and can be signed at anytime:

  • Cardinals released MLB Jasper Brinkley.
  • Chargers released CB Derek Cox, CB Johnny Patrick and FB La'Ron McClain
  • Redskins released P Sav Rocca, RB Jawan Jamison, RB Davin Meggett, DE Adam Carriker and TE Richard Quinn.
  • Cowboys released DE Everette Brown, DT Corvey Irvin and C Phil Costa.
  • Jaguars release OL Uche Nwaneri.
  • Patriots released S Steve Gregory.
  • Lions released G/C Leroy Harris.
  • Seahawks released DE Red Bryant.
  • Eagles released WR Jason Avant.
  • Ravens released FB Vonta Leach and ILB Jameel McClain.
  • Browns released MLB D’Qwell Jackson
  • Seahawks released WR Sidney Rice.
  • Falcons released G Garrett Reynolds.
  • Colts released HB Tashard Choice.
  • Lions released WR Nate Burleson and S Louis Delmas.
  • Saints released S Roman Harper, OLB Will Smith and CB Jabari Greer and re-signed OLB Keyunta Dawson.
  • Buccaneers released OL Gabe Carimi, who later signs with Atlanta Falcons
  • Chiefs released CB Dunta Robinson.
  • Vikings released LB Erin Henderson.
  • Atlanta Falcons released LB Stephen Nicholas and CB Asante Samuel.
The Bengals probably won't show any interest in these players until they know what Anthony Collins and Michael Johnson are going to do in free agency. Once they're taken care -- or sign elsewhere -- Cincinnati will probably look at a couple of the above players. They tend to fill-out their roster with veterans who can be had for small contracts, and will even wait until closer to training camp to reach the 90-man roster limit.
