Cincy Jungle Writer's Mock Draft: Cleveland Browns on the Clock

The Browns are on the clock. Will this pick turn the factory of sadness into the factory of happiness? Probably not, but it could be a good start.

Time for the latest edition of the Cincy Jungle Writer's Mock Draft. Be sure to keep up with all of the picks in a out stream page.

Next up are the Cleveland Browns, who are in desperate need of a QB, but there are several elite offensive players still on the board.

Mickey: Browns take Blake Bortles, QB, UCF

The Browns face a tough decision here. Do they go after another QB that they hope can finally be the signal caller this franchise has longed for, or do they go with the best wideout in the draft? I think having their pick of the QB's is too much for them to pass up and they take a chance with Bortles. This gives them a guy that can come in and compete with Brian Hoyer day one and possibly be the QB of the future.

Jason: Browns take Blake Bortles, QB, UCF

With Teddy Bridgewater off the board, Cleveland strikes early to solve their quarterback problem. Having Brian Hoyer as a potential bridge if Bortles isn't ready to go immediately is a big plus. Bortles has a lot of upside, but he's very raw right now and doesn't need to be thrown into the fire with a team as unstable as the Browns.

Bortles may not be the best QB prospect in this draft, but he'd be one of most promising the Browns have gotten their hands on since returning to Cleveland in 1999. Now that they've got All-Pro center Alex Mack locked-up, he'll have a great offensive line to allow him to develop and eventually reach his full potential.

Oh, and he's got an All-Pro receiver in Josh Gordon to throw to.

Anthony: Browns take Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson

The Browns continue on their impressive offseason by adding another offensive playmaker with the best receiver in the draft. Watkins has good size, great speed and reliable hands to help whoever Cleveland decides is their quarterback for 2014.

Even if they decide on a very limited player under center (Brian Hoyer), an arsenal with Watkins, Josh Gordon, Jordan Cameron and the recently - added Andrew Hawkins would make most quarterbacks look good. A quarterback could be a possibility here, but with Manziel and Bortles already gone, Cleveland almost has to take Watkins.
