Vince Young trying out for Cleveland Browns

The Browns need a veteran QB, and Vince young could fill that role.

The Cleveland Browns are in need of a quarterback a week ahead of the 2014 NFL Draft, and they may look to add one before they're on the clock.

Vince Young, who's been out of football for the past two seasons, will participate in the Browns' voluntary minicamp on a tryout basis this week, according to Mark Berman of FOX 26 in Houston:

NFL sources told FOX 26 Sports free agent quarterback Vince Young will take a physical today with the Cleveland Browns and work out with the team during this week's mini camp with hopes of landing a contract.

Young, who was the Associated Press NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2006 while playing for the Tennessee Titans, last played in the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2011.

The third overall pick in the 2006 draft by way of the Titans, Young made the Pro Bowl in 2006 and 2009 in what's been been an up-and-down career to say the least.

Young, 30, has passed for 8,964 career yards, 46 touchdowns and 51 interceptions.

He's also had training camp stints with the Bills and Packers, but did not play during the regular season with either team. The browns need another veteran QB to take snaps with Brian Hoyer still rehabbing from his ACL tear in 2013.
