Cincinnati Bengals cut Josh Johnson; Sign 10 Undrafted Free Agents

Johnson's spot on the roster was already in jeopardy after A.J. McCarron was drafted in the fifth round.

The Cincinnati Bengals have announced the release of quarterback Josh Johnson and the addition of 10 undrafted free agents.

Johnson's spot on the roster was already in jeopardy after former offensive Jay Gruden - who was instrumental in bringing him to Cincinnati - became the head coach for the Washington Redskins. Once A.J. McCarron was drafted in the fifth round combined with the offseason addition of Jason Campbell, Johnson's spot on the roster was effectively terminated.

A sixth-year NFL player in 2014, Johnson joined the Bengals in 2013 as a free agent and was in the No. 2 QB role all last season and in the postseason. He played in two regular season games, with seven rushes for 20 yards and no pass attempts.

The Bengals today also signed 10 college free agents:
