Was Teddy Bridgewater a better choice in the first round? - ITJ

The Bengals had cornerback options as well as quarterback options in the 2014 NFL draft. They selected corner as it filled a need. Did they make the right choice?

Teddy Bridgewater was on the board when the Bengals selected in the first round. We ask Paul Dehner Jr to share his thoughts on why the Bengals passed on the quarterback. Dehner questions whether Bridgewater gives you anything that Dalton doesn't. Mickey agreed that there was no quarterback in the draft that realistically gave you anything more than what you already had on the roster. Selecting a QB in the first round would actually have been a step back for the Bengals. You would have been drafting a backup player with your top pick as you ignore an even bigger need in the secondary.

Dehner thinks that Bridgewater wouldn't be a better option than Dalton and thinks the sentiment comes from the fans backlash against Dalton. As a group we felt the Bengals made the right decision in the first round, but just like anything, there is always room to debate.
