Cincy Jungle Writer's mock draft: Carolina Panthers on the clock

Cam Newton needs another receiver to throw to, but also needs some offensive lineman to protect him.

The latest edition of the Cincy Jungle Writer's Mock Draft is here. Be sure to keep up with all of the picks in a out stream page.

Next up are the Carolina Panthers. After winning the NFC South in 2013, they'll need to have a great draft to repeat after losing several key players this offseason to free agency and retirement.

Jason: Panthers take Allen Robinson, WR, Penn State

The Panthers have to find a receiver for Cam Newton to throw too after they let Steve Smith and Tedd Ginn Jr. go this offseason. Robinson is the best one on the board this late in the first, but he's still a player capable of making an impact for the defending NFC South champs as a rookie.

He was the Nittany Lions' leading receiver for the second straight year in 2013, when he totaled 97 catches for 1,432 yards (14.8) and six touchdowns.

Mickey: Panthers take Morgan Moses, OT, Virginia

The Panthers have a major need to replace the retired Jordan Gross and can do that with Moses. He shined in 2013 after he switched from right to left tackle and continued to play well at the Senior Bowl. Moses is a prototypical size tackle and has the skills that can translate into what is needed in the NFL. He has long arms to keep defenders back and enough burst to cover the blindside of quarterbacks when necessary.

Anthony: Panthers take Morgan Moses, OT, Virginia

For a team that had a breakout season in 2013, the Carolina Panthers have a lot of needs. They are desperate for able pass-catchers and corners, but their offensive line needs work as well. Many of the top tackles are off of the board here, but their is one other intriguing tackle that they can look at in Moses. He has struggled with weight issues, but if he keeps that in check, he could become a dominant NFL blocker.
