Cincy Jungle Writer's mock draft: New England Patriots on the clock

Who will the Patriots take here that can finally help them get over the hump and win another Super Bowl after coming close several times since their last title in 2005?

The latest edition of the Cincy Jungle Writer's Mock Draft is here. Be sure to keep up with all of the picks in a out stream page.

Next up are the New England Patriots. Who will they take here that can finally help them get over the hump and win another Super Bowl after coming close several times since their last title in 2005?

Mickey: Patriots take Louis Nix III, DT, Notre Dame

The Patriots are probably beginning to think about replacing Vince Wilfork who is pretty much under a one year deal in New England. If Nix is on the board when the Patriots are on the clock they will pull the trigger to bring the next guy to fill that space into town. He has been compared to B.J. Raji and if he does live up to any of that hype, the Patriots will be ecstatic with the pick.

Jason: Patriots take Calvin Pryor, SS, Louisville

The Patriots already got a huge secondary upgrade in the form of Darrelle Revis, and now that add the best strong safety in this draft. Pryor will be an enforce in the same manner Rodney Harrison was for their Super Bowl teams. They've not had a true punisher on defense since Harrison retired, and Pryor gives them that.

Anthony: Patriots take Ra'shede Hageman, DT, Minnesota

The Patriots usually have the luxury (or misfortune, depending on how you look at it) of picking in this area of the draft and usually go best player available. Though they hung on to Vince Wilfork, he is aging and Hageman is a beast of a player to pass up.

The diverse looks of the Patriots' defense could have Hageman on the line in different spots and he could be effective, as they were able to do with Richard Seymour. His potential is off of the charts, he just needs to have every down desire.
