Marvin Lewis values 1st-round CB; ESPN Mock Tabs Kyle Fuller to Bengals

Marvin Lewis admitted to the media on Tuesday that some of the best cornerbacks he's been around have come in the first round, which only adds fuel to the fire that the Bengals are set to draft the best available corner in this year's NFL Draft.

The mock drafts will end soon and the real NFL Draft will kick off Thursday night. Once it does, there will be a little over an hour pass by until the Cincinnati Bengals are on the clock at pick No. 24.

In Tuesday's ESPN.com NFL Nation mock draft, Coley Harvey tabbed cornerback Kyle Fuller to the Bengals with their first-round pick, a great value pick at that point.

Cornerback is a position of need for the Bengals, and in Fuller they would be getting a good one. He's as regarded the No. 3 corner in the draft, and with Dennard and Gilbert already gone, it makes sense for the Bengals to go this direction, taking the best available player. In a pre-mock poll, Bengals fans overwhelmingly agreed with me here, saying they thought the Bengals would select Fuller.

Coincidentally enough, Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis admitted to the media Tuesday that he values first-round cornerbacks:

"That's a tough position," Lewis said. "I've been fortunate in the league to be around a bunch of good corners, and most of them came in the first round. I feel pretty good about that."
