The first match of USA's trip to this year's World Cup begins with Ghana. Group G consists of football powerhouses Germany and Portugal, so today is essentially a must-win game – as a loss or tie would likely force them defeat at least one of Portugal or Germany to progress.

USA coach Jurgen Klinsmann and his team know this, and they will be entering Monday's clash knowing they need a win  to give them realistic room for their results against Germany and Portugal.

"It's pretty much like a knockout game," Klinsmann has admitted ahead of the game.
