Brandon Flowers expected to pick new team this week

Mike Ehrmann

The Kansas City Chiefs just released Brandon Flowers this past week, and he already appears set to pick a new team. Per Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, Flowers plans to make his decision in the coming days:

The Baltimore Ravens, Pittsburgh Steelers, San Diego Chargers, Minnesota Vikings, Atlanta Falcons and Detroit Lions have been mentioned as teams interested in him, though he doesn't appear interested in Pittsburgh.

Even with the addition of Dominique Franks and Aaron Ross, signing Flowers would be a smart move by Baltimore if it comes at a fair price. They have Jimmy Smith and Lardarius Webb set as the two primary starters, but Chykie Brown is the only other corner that played any with them last year, a mere 39 snaps.

Flowers started 87 of the 88 games he appeared in for the Chiefs over the past six seasons. The former second-round draft pick recorded 421 tackles, 17 interceptions, two sacks and four forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries during that span.

He'll immediately upgrade the secondary of whoever he signs with.
