The first near-miss on the injury front came today. Safety Reggie Nelson went down for a moment with what looked like a hand and/or shoulder injury, but it turned out he was ok.

Nelson has been a mini iron man for the Bengals defense since being traded from the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2010. He's played in 45 of a possible 48 games in the past three seasons, starting in all of those games.
Over that span, Nelson recorded 235 tackles, 28 pass deflections, nine interceptions and five forced fumbles.
