Geno Atkins and Dre Kirkpatrick held out; Andre Smith returns

Atkins is still being eased back onto the field as part of his rehabilitation from a torn ACL suffered late last year.

The Bengals are back on the Cincinnati practice field Tuesday for Day 14 of training camp. It was a fully-padded and full-contact practice, so anyone dealing with any kind of injury was likely to be held out.

Not participating was defensive tackle Geno Atkins and cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick. Atkins is still being eased back onto the field as part of his torn ACL rehabilitation.

As for Kirkpatrick, he's simply being given the day off. He suffered a hamstring injury early in camp that cost him several practices, but did return to play in the preseason opener, and has practiced since then.

Back on the field was starting right tackle Andre Smith. He's also missed a good portion of camp with concussion-like symptoms.

Running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis missed his second straight practice due to what's being called an illness.

Backup quarterback Jason Campbell was also held out as he rests his injured throwing arm. The recently-signed Tyler Wilson said he expects to play vs Jets on Saturday, meaning he'll have had about five full days practice under his belt before seeing game action.
