Vontaze Burfict questionable with shoulder injury

Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict attempted the decapitation move on Stephen Hill. Unfortunately, George Iloka's decapitation move was quicker and Burfict hurt his shoulder as a result.

With 6:54 remaining in the first quarter, New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith made the dangerous decision to target wide receiver Stephen Hill on a crossing pattern. Safety George Iloka uncorked and the unloaded on Hill, forcing the incomplete pass.

Linebacker Vontaze Burfict also pushed the power hit button, launching into ninja mode to decapitate Hill. Burfict narrowly missed Iloka's collision, but his right arm appeared to get caught up in it. For a moment Burfict was on the ground, sitting up, laying down and then helped to the sidelines. According to play-by-play, the training staff was flexing Burfict's right hand or wrist... "but didn't appear in any pain."

According to our numbers, Burfict came off the field with an apparent injury 13,115 times last season. Only to re-join the game within a few plays... because he's kind of tough that way. However, the team announced that his return is questionable with a shoulder injury.

NOTE: Burfict was back by the next possession.
