Falcons rookie Ra’Shede Hageman may have broke wrist in camp fight

Atlanta ranked 31st in run defense in 2013, and Hageman was someone the team was counting on to improve on that ranking.

Remember when Emmanuel Lamur did his best Mike Tyson impression on AJ Green's helmet?

While the immediate concern was for Green, Lamur could have also suffered a significant injury because of it. Just ask Atlanta Falcons defensive tackle Ra’Shede Hageman. He reportedly injured his wrist while punching a fellow teammate in practice on Sunday, according to ESPN.

Hageman exited the field and did not return with what is believed to be a hairline fracture in his wrist, according to a league source. Hageman threw a punch at center Joe Hawley during pass rush drills and received medical attention immediately after the scuffle.

A second-round pick from Minnesota, Hageman was the Falcons’ first defensive player selected in the 2014 NFL Draft. Atlanta ranked 31st in run defense in 2013, and Hageman was someone the team was counting on to improve on that ranking.

At this point, it’s unclear how long Hageman will be out.
