The Bengals will open their preseason set of games against the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday night at Arrowhead Stadium. A number of players dealing with minor injuries probably won't be making the trip, including defensive tackle Geno Atkins, tight end Jermaine Gresham and wide receiver Marvin Jones.
Though they returned to practice Monday, Bengals.com's Geoff Hobson says not to expect either to suit up in the preseason opener at Kansas City.

Geno is suited but he won't play either.

The Bengals are playing it safe here. Geno is still getting his legs back under him, and he'll likely have less than five full practices under his belt Thursday, so there's no reason to rush him back into game action. As for Jones and Gresham, they made their training camp debuts Monday, so they too are getting back into football shape.
