The San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens will face off at M&T Bank Stadium in their first NFL preseason game  with each having something to prove this season. The 49ers are looking to finally get over the hump and get past their NFC West rival Seattle Seahawks to get back to the Super Bowl and finally hoist the Lombardi Trophy.

The Ravens are looking to bounce back from a tumultuous 8-8 season that saw them miss the playoffs after winning a Super Bowl. The game will air on national television, rare for a preseason game, and will also be available live online.

For the 49ers, running back Frank Gore isn’t going to play. Carlos Hyde is the next man up. He’s similar to Gore in size at 6-0, 235, but the second round pick also has the same bruising running style as Gore.  With injuries to Kendall Hunter and LaMichael James, get ready for a heavy dose of Hyde vs Baltimore.

This contest has a start time schedule of 7:30 p.m. ET, and will air live on TV channel NFL Network (DirecTV channel number 212). The starters will probably see just one series of play, making this a game for the backups to shine in.
