The Bengals will be down a number of key starters vs. the Chiefs tonight. They'll be using a makeshift offensive line that features three backups starting. With Andrew Whitworth out, Marshall Newhouse will make his Bengals debut starting at left tackle,
With Andre Smith out, Will Svitek replaces him at right tackle. Newhouse has 31 career NFL starts, and Svitek has 18 in his 9-year career.
Undrafted rookie free agent Trey Hopkins of Texas gets the start at left guard with both Clint Boling and Mike Pollak out. He'll be lining up next to another rookie in fourth-round draft pick, Russell Bodine.
The only veteran lineman starting tonight is right guard Kevin Zeitler.
The Bengals plan to use a two-tight end set to start the game, and it will be Alex Smith as the number two TE next to Tyler Eifert.
With All-Pro defensive tackle Geno Atkins out, it's third-year tackle Brandon Thompson getting the nod in his place.
