The Cincinnati Bengals got off to a nice start in their first preseason game. their first offensive drive saw a steady dose of second-year running back Giovani Bernard,. Two runs and a screen pass to him helped set up a play-action bomb from Andy Dalton to A.J. Green for 53 yards down to the Chiefs 13-yard line.

The Bengals were unable to punch it into the endzone, and settled for a Mike Nugent 30-yard field goal. A third and 9 saw Dalton throw behind Mohamed Sanu as he was being pressured. Dalton finished the drive and game 3/5 for 71 yards. Green finished the game with two catches for 62 yards.

Overall, it was great to see Cincinnati score with a MASH unit of an offensive line with Andrew Whitworth, Andre Smith, Mike Pollak and Clint Boling were all held out of the game while also being without Jermaine Gresham and Marvin Jones.
