Training Camp Day 12 Quick Recap

As far as practice went, it was another great day for Andy Dalton, but that's expected now that he has all of his toys back.

Day 12 of training camp saw the Bengals hold their second family day at Paul Brown Stadium in two weeks. With Game 1 of the preseason having just take place Thursday, the Bengals were fresh after a day off Friday. That helped lead to the return of several injured players, including Andrew Whitworth, Mike Pollak, Clint Boling Marvin Jones and Jermaine Gresham, all of whom have missed much of camp to this point and didn't play in Thursday's game.

Sitting out were Tyler eifert, Andre Smith and others. With Jason Campbell and AJ McCarron outTyler Wilson was added to the roster.

As far as practice went, it was another great day for Andy Dalton, but that's expected now that he has all of his toys back, including Jones and Gresham. Those two ran with the first-team offense and made several big plays.

Ryan Hewitt looked good again playing at TE. He caught a TD pass from Matt Scott, who also had a good day after his semi-breakout performance vs. the Chiefs. Hewitt continues to look like the H-back Hue Jackson wants for his offense.

Speaking of Scott, he ran with the second-team offense. If he can keep performing well in camp and play well in next week's game against the New York Jets, he'll take a big step in not only earning a roster spot, but winning the backup job.

There wasn't any tackling this practice, but Darqueze Dennard looked good after a solid NFL debut Thursday. He looked good in coverage, and even broke up a few passes.
