While the Thursday night game does not involve the Bengals, the outcome will be relevant on the AFC North standings. Do the Steelers beat the Ravens and take a lead in the division while sending Baltimore to a horrible 0-2 start? Or, can the Ravens put a full game together and knock the Steelers back to even?
On one hand, it would be nice to see the Ravens start their season horribly and put themselves in such a hole that the rest of the year becomes an uphill battle. On the other, I can't root for the Steelers. Ever.
So I leave the prognostication up to Tecmo:
The Steelers win the toss and elect to receive the football.
On a pass that had no business being thrown, Ben Roethlisberger gets picked off and the Ravens are in a good position to put the Steelers on their heels. Then Joe Flacco, not to be out done, promptly gives the ball right back to the Steelers.
The Steelers complete a long pass to Antonio Brown and take a 7-0 lead.
On the Ravens next possession, they have trouble getting away from the goal line and Ryan Shazier makes them pay.
Roethlisberger finds Brown again and the Steelers start to run away with this one.
At the end of one, the Steelers are on top of the Ravens 16 - 0.
Finally the Ravens find life. Joe Flacco hits Steve Smith Sr. for a long touchdown to chip into the Steelers lead.
But the Antonio Brown connection is strong tonight and the Steelers answer right back.
Flacco's answer is another interception. This time however, the Steelers struggle to move the ball.
The Ravens defense holds and the Steelers attempt a field goal.
At the half, the Steelers lead 26 - 7.
The Steelers come out with some tough defense, but the Ravens adjustments seem to work and Flacco finds Torrey Smith wide open for a huge gain. Owen Daniels then gets the opportunity for the score.
In what has become the theme, Roethlisberger finds Brown for the answer.
The Ravens kick returner Jacoby Jones finds a seam and almost takes one for a touchdown. A short field for the offense should result in some points.
Ouch.
At the end of 3, the Steelers lead 33 to the Ravens 14.
In the 4th, the Steelers are held to another field goal try, this time it is a miss.
In the too little too late category, Joe Flacco finds Torrey Smith wide open for a score.
In keeping with the theme of the day. The Steelers answer with another touchdown to Antonio Brown.
In the end, Antonio Brown was too much for the Ravens to handle and the Steelers walk away from this one with the win.
