The Bengals were beaten to a pulp on the injury front in the first half of play vs. the Falcons. No matter what they did, Cincinnati could not keep from losing player after player to injury, leaving them dangerously thin heading into the second half of play.
In addition to losing A.J. Green, the Bengals also lost guard Kevin Zeitler, tight end Alex smith and defensive tackle Brandon Thompson. Zeitler threw a key block on Giovani Bernard's touchdown-run near the end of the first half, but then went straight back to the locker room with a calf injury. The Bengals announced his return was 'questionable.'
As for Thompson, he exited with a knee injury and was ruled 'out'. The good news is Cincinnati activated Devon Still today, so they have a backup tackle behind Geno Atkins and Domata Peko.
As for Smith, he left with a bicep injury and was ruled 'out'. With Tyler Eifert already out, that leaves Cincinnati with just Jermaine Gresham at TE to go with Ryan Hewitt at H-back.
