Vontaze Burfict and Kevin Zeitler ruled OUT vs. Falcons

The Bengals had to finish Sunday's game vs. the Falcons without several key starters, including Vontaze Burfict.

The Bengals ruled out linebacker Vontaze Burfict and guard Kevin Zeitler against the Falcons on Sunday in the third quarter.

On Cincinnati's first defensive series vs. Atlanta Sunday, Burfict had to leave after appearing "dazed" after making a tackle. He went to the sideline and began going through concussion testing, but was later able to return to the game on the next defensive series.

However, a stinger injury suffered in the third quarter knocked him out of the game for good.

He suffered a concussion in the second quarter in Week 1 vs. the Baltimore Ravens. Previously Burfict's status was "still to be determined", despite the fact that he had practiced already this week. After suffering a concussion last week against the Baltimore Ravens, Burfict was placed under the concussion protocol this week. It appeared that he was cleared to return to play after practicing on Friday.

This will likely put his availability against. the Tennessee Titans next week in serious doubt.

As for Zeitler, he left after being injured at the end of the second quarter. He threw a key block on Giovani Bernard's touchdown-run near the end of the first half, but then went straight back to the locker room with a calf injury. The Bengals announced his return was 'questionable' before later being ruled 'out'.
