Mike Pollak strong against the Titans while Kevin Zeitler makes progress

Cincinnati Bengals offensive guard Kevin Zeitler is making progress. Lucky for the Bengals, he doesn't need to be rushed back with Kevin Pollak holding the fort.

Offensive guard Kevin Zeitler may return soon.

Head coach Marvin Lewis told reporters this weekend that Zeitler, who reportedly tore a calf muscle last week against the Atlanta Falcons, made significant progress this week.

Coley Harvey with ESPN writes, Zeitler could be back by Cincinnati's week seven game against the Indianapolis Colts. If things go better, maybe week six against the Carolina Panthers.

Offensive guard Kevin Zeitler, who is reportedly expected to miss the next two games, also progressed from a calf injury this week, Lewis said. Depending upon how the next two weeks go for Zeitler, perhaps his return could come quicker than originally anticipated. That doesn't mean Zeitler will play at New England on Oct. 5, but it means he may not be out as long as once believed.

Backup Mike Pollak started at right guard and scored a positive grade, according to Pro Football Focus. Pollak's overall score (+1.6) and run block (+1.1) were significant while his pass block (+0.7) was good and screen block (-0.5) in the negatives.
