Free Agency: Reviewing inside linebacker free agents

New, comments

As we've looked at soon-to-be free agents in Cincinnati, we've obviously landed on Rey Maualuga. However, looking at this year's free agent inside backers... "is there anybody out there"?

Don't worry, we get it.

Cincinnati applies a "promote within" mentality that demands exceptional draft picks who are eventually promoted into the starting lineup. And while this philosophy is genuinely neat, no scout, general manager or Twitter expert can be certain how college kids will respond to the National Football League -- and we're not just talking about the results on the field, but the overall lifestyle changes that accompany the dreamiest of gigs.

We reviewed the Overthecap.com listing of free agent linebackers and compared those to the Pro Football Focus free agency tracker. Here's a handful of the inside linebackers headed into free agency this March. We included inside linebackers who played in base 3-4 alignments, and some of whom are restricted free agents.

Are you feeling any of these players?
