Dalton talks playoffs, Super Bowl and more with Boomer and Carton

New, comments

This morning, Andy Dalton joined Boomer Esiason and Craig Carton to talk about the Bengals' season, their playoff appearance, and the popular topic of the week: What happens if Richard Sherman's girlfriend goes into labor during the big game.

"It's not bad, but it could be better." That's what Andy Dalton thinks about leading the Bengals to four straight postseason appearances.

And, if you're looking for an explanation on why the Bengals have been bounced from the playoffs in the first round for each of those four consecutive years, according to Boomer Esiason it's because "the Bengals lack an edge, like a fire."  That's what he told Dalton this morning when Dalton joined Boomer and Carton on their morning show.

Who is Dalton picking to win the Super Bowl? Well, he's going with the team representing the AFC - the New England Patriots, though he says he just wants to see a good game.

Dalton also talked about the Bengals' season, how he likes his footballs (not right out of the box) and who would pay if Dalton were to go out to dinner with Esiason, Ken Anderson, Akili Smith and Jeff Blake. Dalton graciously said that he would pick up the tab.

The trio also discussed Andy's infamous rubber wedding ring. "25 years from now, this guys going to have a lot of money," Esiason said. Carton joked that Dalton should become a sponsor for Qalo rings.

Toward the end of the show, Carton asked Dalton for a personal favor. He wanted him to write a letter to Esiason saying "Dear Boomer, I have more playoff appearances than you as a Bengal quarterback and I love you. - Andy Dalton." Boomer protested saying they have the same amount of appearances and that he of course has more wins. But Carton came back saying when all is said and done, he bets Dalton will have more appearances (but not necessarily wins) than Boomer.
