The Cincinnati Bengals' season is over, and now they're building their 90-man roster for the offseason. Today the ream signed seven players to Reserve/Future contracts, most of which spent the year on the practice squad and/or were with the team during training camp.
They will count on the team’s Active List beginning Feb. 2, the Monday after the Super Bowl. The one player that finished the year on the practice squad but not signed was running back James Wilder Jr., a rookie out of Florida State. He was arguably the most talented player on the practice squad, but with four capable running backs already on the roster, the Bengals probably wanted to give Wilder a chance to catch on elsewhere.
Here are the seven players who were signed:
* LB L.J. Fort (Northern Iowa)
* OT Dan France (Michigan State)
* DT Kwame Geathers (Georgia)
* CB Onterio McCalebb (Auburn)
* TE Jake Murphy (Utah)
* WR Tevin Reese (Baylor)
* WR Eric Ward (Texas Tech)
