Pro Football Hall of Fame announces finalists

New, comments

The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced their 15 finalists on Thursday. Will we ever see another Bengals player?

In most cases when there are significant Hall of Fame updates, voting results and finalists, we transform into this fire-and-brimstone song-and-dance about the shame that The Rattler is not already in (see here and here) and how Kenny Anderson has earned enough arguments for consideration (see herehere, and here). It's usually just these two, though a few ambitious folks make their arguments for Boomer Esiason, too.

This is one of those moments where I simply don't have the energy for it . None of the 26 semifinalists were Bengals. Cincinnati has more than enough history to bunk someone next to Anthony Munoz. Anderson, Riley and even Lemar Parrish. Nope. But soon. One day? Willie? Chad Johnson? One day we'll celebrate another Bengals player. Just not this year.
