George Iloka still missing Bengals practice

We could see Shawn Williams make his first NFL start with George Iloka possibly missing this week.

The Bengals were back on the field Thursday for their second of three pre-Chiefs practices.

Not on the field, however, for the second day in a row was starting safety George Iloka. His ankle injury kept him out Wednesday after he left Sunday's game with the injury that initially happened in Week 1 at Oakland. With the Bengals having just a mild workout Friday and then their Saturday practice, Iloka probably isn't going to get anything more than a questionable designation for Sunday's game on Friday.

It won't be surprising if he's listed as doubtful or even ruled out, which means Shawn Williams would be making his first NFL start. Williams played most of the snaps Sunday when Iloka left the game. This would be a good week for Williams to make his first start as the Chiefs' offense rarely throws the ball down the field. He still would have a tough test in helping stop All-Pro running back Jamaal Charles while also having to cover star tight end Travis Kelce at times.

Other than that, everyone was able to practice Thursday, including cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick. He was limited in Wednesday's session with a shoulder injury, but it looks like it won't be enough to keep him out against the Chiefs. Marcus Hardison also practiced again after his knee injury cost him this first three games. It will be an interesting decision to see which defensive tackles are active Sunday.

Andrew Whitworth and Reggie Nelson were also back Thursday after getting veteran's rest days off Wednesday. Pat Sims continued to practice as well, and it doesn't appear his hip issue is continuing to bother him.
