Another Bengals win, another Bengals player nominated for a weekly award.
This time, it's kicker Mike Nugent for his performance in Sunday's 27-24 win over the Seahawks. Nugent has been nominated for the Castrol Edge Clutch Performer of the Week award for his work in helping the Bengals rally from a 17-point deficit to defeat the two-time NFC champions.
Nugent converted all three of his extra points and both field goals, each of which were critical to the Bengals winning this game. His first make came as time expired in regulation as he calmly converted a 31-yard attempt to send the game into overtime.
After both teams traded punts to open overtime, the Bengals' offense would drive into Seahawks territory before Nugent came on the field to kick the game-winning 42-yarder to give Cincinnati an improbable win over Seattle. It may have doinked off the left upright, but it went through, and that's all that matters. This was also Nugent's fourth career game-winning kick in an overtime period.
