During Weeks 2-5, our dear friend and colleague Jason Marcum has picked against the Bengals. He picked them in Week 1, and he is picking the good guys in Week 6. This is a problem. The problem is one of two things. The first possibility is that Jason has been pulling the reverse jinx all year and is giving up on it now. That would be bad, considering the Bengals' 5-0 record. The second option is that now that he has actually picked Cincinnati to win twice, maybe he actually believed that the Bengals would lose in Weeks 2-5. This is also disconcerting. Jason, you are an enigma. What are your motivations? We need to know! (We're just kidding, but, our minds are being twisted here!)
This week, there are three teams that the Cincy Jungle staff likes unanimously. Unsurprisingly, these teams all sport perfect records. We are rolling with Cincinnati, Green Bay, and New England to stay perfect. Cincinnati will likely be playing a team without their starting quarterback and running back, Green Bay is playing a San Diego team that is coming off of a major letdown, and New England is facing an Indianapolis team that will probably make the playoffs only because their division is so terrible.
At the other end of the spectrum, the New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles game has the staff split 6-5 with the Giants being our slight favorite. This game features two inconsistent teams who are equally likely to look like juggernauts as they are laughingstocks. According to Vegas, the Eagles are 3.5 point favorites. When you account for the three points that home teams typically receive from oddsmakers, there isn't a ton of faith either way. Will Eli Manning light up a questionable defense? Will Chip Kelly's assortment of random parts be able to continue running the ball with success, or will they revert back to the way they opened the season? It is impossible to definitively answer any of these questions, so it is easy to see why the staff is so split on this game.
Without further ado, here are our Week 6 NFL game picks.
