Well, we did it. We made it through Jason picking Cincinnati to win with an actual win. (He actually said it was a mistake and he didn't realize he chose the Bengals, so what a relief!) With the Bengals on a bye this week, we don't have to worry about whether Jason's voodoo has any real world effect on the Bengals. This week we can kick back, relax, and watch the rest of the league as the Bengals and their 6-0 record sit at home on their couches like the rest of us.
For the first time this year, there isn't a single game that the entire staff agrees on. We did come close to a consensus on three games, though. 10 out of 11 staffers like Seattle, Washington, and the New York Giants. At the other end of the spectrum, Pittsburgh at Kansas City yielded the biggest split, with six of us liking Pittsburgh. While Kansas City has a great home crowd, they are without the most important player on their team, since Jamaal Charles is sidelined for the rest of the year with a knee injury. Jeremy Maclin is also questionable with a concussion. On the other side of the ball, the Steelers will most likely be without their most important player, Ben Roethlisberger. There is a chance that Ben may suit up, but Pittsburgh has unfortunately shown the ability to win even without their first (and second) string quarterback. My heart is with you this week Alex Smith, but my head is not.
With all of that said, here are our picks and records to date through Week 6!
