Bengal Bytes (10/28): Lively fans

Marvin Jones talks about how important a win against the Steelers would be. One Steelers writer either thinks really highly of Ben Roethlisberger or really badly of Andy Dalton, predicting even a hobbled Roethlisberger could beat Dalton. Jason Pierre-Paul gets a contract with the Giants, and Ryan Mallett gets cut by Texans.

The Bengals want to get explosive downhill running back Jeremy Hill going after the bye in anticipation of the colder months ahead. With the way that Cincinnati’s offensive line is both protecting Andy Dalton, Hill’s job will be made a lot easier.

Bengals notes: Team preparing for 'Big Ben'

Chris Carter shook his head and smiled. Pittsburgh head coach Mike Tomlin said after his Steelers lost to the Kansas City Chiefs that Ben Roethlisberger will be coming back from a sprained medial collateral ligament (MCL) on Sunday after missing the last four complete games and part of a fifth.

Winning Turnover Battle Key for Bengals in Week 8 Matchup with Steelers

There are plenty of things to point out when conversing about the 6-0 Cincinnati Bengals and the reason for the historic start. Behind Enemy Lines

Ben Roethlisberger can outplay Andy Dalton on one bad knee

With Ben Roethlisberger prepping to return after a four-week absence from an MCL sprain and bone bruise in his left knee, his ability is unquestioned. But questions remain about the rust he must shake Sunday against Cincinnati.

With Roethlisberger back, Steelers offense finally at full strength

Steelers notebook: Defensive back's ironman streak in jeopardy due to shoulder injury

The Steelers are starting to get thin at cornerback. On Saturday, they placed projected starter Cortez Allen on injured reserve with a knee injury. On Sunday, one starter left the game at Kansas City and did not return while another played with a cast on his hand to protect a fractured bone in his thumb. William Gay has never missed a game since he entered the NFL in 2007. He has played in 135 consecutive contests, the longest current streak in the league by a cornerback. That streak is in jeopardy as the Steelers prepare to face the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.

The Houston Texans released backup quarterback Ryan Mallett on Tuesday. The team re-signed quarterback T.J. Yates, who was a free agent, a league source told ESPN. He had to fly commercial to join the team for Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins. He did not play.

Cleveland Browns can't suspend Johnny Manziel, according to GM Ray Farmer

The Browns could not suspend Johnny Manziel after his driving incident Oct. 12 in Avon, Ohio, general manager Ray Farmer said Tuesday. The Browns' only option, under the NFL's rules, was to make Manziel inactive for this past Sunday's game against the St. Louis Rams, Farmer said. Only the NFL has the authority to discipline Manziel, because the league investigates potential personal conduct policy violations.
