Week 8 kicks off with the New England Patriots playing host to the Miami Dolphins on Thursday Night Football.
This AFC East rivalry has annually been one of the NFL's best and most competitive matchups. They split the series last year with New England winning 41-13 at home, and Miami winning 33-20 at home as well. Prior to last year, four of the previous five matchups had been decided by 10 points or less.
The Dolphins are also the one team that has managed to fluster Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. While he's 18-8 vs Miami in his career, those eight losses are the most the future Hall of Famer has against any single team. The next closest is six losses in his career vs the New York Jets.
Speaking of, the Patriots are coming off a narrow 30-23 win over the Jets in Week 7. It was a back-and-forth affair that saw New England manage to pull away late and hold on to remain undefeated. The Dolphins are coming off a dominant performance against the Houston Texans. It was a game that saw Miami lead by as many as 41 points before coming away with a 44-26 win.
