The NFL released updated vote totals for the 2016 NFL Pro Bowl and two Bengals are earning serious recognition.
Cincinnati Bengals defensive tackle Geno Atkins has earned 54,816 votes so far, leading all NFL defensive tackles, with St. Louis Rams Aaron Donald coming in second with 48,125. Atkins, a former fourth-round pick from the 2010 NFL draft, has been named to three Pro Bowls (2011, 2012, 2014) with absences during his rookie season and 2013 when he tore his ACL. In addition, Atkins earned a spot on the 2012 first-team All-Pro squad.
Through eight games in the regular season, Atkins leads all NFL defensive tackles with six quarterback sacks (tied with Carolina Panthers defensive tackle Kawann Short).
Quarterback Andy Dalton isn't leading quarterbacks with 114,368 votes, but he's generated the third-most votes behind Tom Brady (141,750) and Aaron Rodgers (120,242). Carolina's Cam Newton and Arizona's Carson Palmer are fourth and fifth respectively at quarterback.
