Bengals Bytes (11/13): Containing the mismatch

Tyler Eifert won't be sneaking up on anyone after the season he's been having. Madden isn't a fan of the Bengals this week against the Texans. Patrick Willis slams the door and throws away the key on a return to the NFL, and Draft Kings retains a top lawyer.

Walkthru: What's left for Bengals to answer?
While many people will say the schedule hasn’t been impressive (a combined 26-41), three of those eight teams are currently .500 (Oakland, Seattle, Buffalo) and the Steelers are 5-4. In eight weeks, three of those teams could be in the playoffs.

Cincinnati businesses paying price for Bengals success
The undefeated Bengals record is great for Cincinnati businesses, but in addition to grabbing new customers the orange and black merchandise is also attracting criminals. The Cincinnati Police Department is investigating two burglaries in Over-the-Rhine this week.

J.J. Watt, Texans on lookout for Andy Dalton's quick-pass ability
J.J. Watt recorded 20.5 sacks for the Houston Texans last season, matching a career high. None of them came on the Cincinnati Bengals' Andy Dalton, a quarterback the Texans faced in Week 12.

Bengals' defensive line rotation going strong
There may be no official wagers – at least none anyone can talk about – but there is a friendly competition among each member of the Cincinnati Bengals' defensive line. But it’s not necessarily what you may think.

Behind Enemy Lines

Texans to confront a model TE in Eifert
Cincinnati Bengals star tight end Tyler Eifert swiveled his hips as he jab-stepped inside to convincingly sell an inside route to Cleveland Browns cornerback Tramon Williams. The slick move fooled Williams badly in their Nov. 5 game, leaving him frozen in his tracks and unable to recover in time as the imposing, athletic tight end changed directions and dashed upfield to the end zone.

Texans hoping to crank up running game
The Texans’ running game has been stuck in neutral for the majority of the season. Heading into Monday night’s road game against the Cincinnati Bengals, the Texans are averaging just 87.9 rushing yards per game and 3.3 yards per carry. They’ve gained 703 yards and run for four touchdowns. Between a frequently injured offensive line not opening up enough holes and the backs missing a few they’ve opened and the season-ending torn Achilles of Pro Bowl running back Arian Foster, it’s been a rough situation for the Texans’ offense. Now, they’re looking to upgrade the running game with better continuity in the second half of the season.

Houston Texans LB Jadeveon Clowney sidelined again with back injury
After testing out his back during Wednesday's fully-padded practice, Houston Texans outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney was relegated to the training room during Thursday's practice.

Madden Matchup: Texans at Bengals
We are going to shock the world on Monday night...at least according to Madden 16. Welcome back to the Madden Matchup, as we use the popular football video game to preview the Texans upcoming contest. I trust everyone enjoyed the bye week (I sure did), as Texans fans (and the organization) took this past Sunday off from the gridiron. It almost feels like two off-weeks, since Houston doesn't hit the field again until Monday night, as they travel to Cincinnati to take on the undefeated Bengals.
