After another week in the NFL that saw injuries to key players, and also some rookies continue to shine, who should you look to add and drop in your NFL fantasy football league heading into Week 12? The fantasy playoffs are almost here, so who you have on your team going forward will be more important than ever.
Ravens RB Javorius 'Buck' Allen
The Ravens' backfield and offense, in general, will look vastly different for the remainder of the 2015 season. Baltimore lost quarterback Joe Flacco and running back Justin Forsett to season-ending injuries Sunday during a 16-13 win over the Rams.
Flacco was lost to what's believed to be a torn ACL and MCL. Forsett suffered a broken right arm. In his relief, rookie running back Javorius 'Buck' Allen shined with 67 yards on 22 carries to go with 48 yards on five catches. He was viewed as the more versatile back between him and Forsett while showing flashes of being a quality back this season.
The Ravens are going to rely heavily on the fourth-round rookie out of USC with both Flacco and Forsett out the rest of the year. It's hard to add a starting running back this late in the season, but that's exactly what you'll be getting with Allen.
Panthers WR Devin Funchess
Cam Newton has been dying for a consistent pass-catcher other than Greg Olsen, and he may have finally found it in rookie wide receiver Devin Funchess. The second-round pick out of Michigan has emerged in recent weeks and has now caught a touchdown in two of his last three games.
The second one came during a four-catch, 64-yard performance on Sunday, during which the Panthers beat Washington 44-16. Week 11 was Funchess' first start after working his way up the depth chart. The Panthers simply don't have any consistent pass-catchers outside of Olsen and now Funchess as of late, so pick him up while he's hot.
Chiefs RB Spencer Ware
The Chiefs offense looked unstoppable against the Chargers in their 33-3 win in San Diego, and much of that came without the help of running back Charcandrick West. He recorded just 16 yards on 11 carries before leaving the game with a hamstring injury; he did not return.
That paved the way for Spencer Ware to have a breakout performance, rushing for 96 yards and two scores on just 11 carries. If West misses significant time, Ware is a must-add this week, and even if not, Ware could be someone in line for more touches going forward.
Ravens RB Justin Forsett and QB Joe Flacco
As mentioned above, Flacco and Forsett will miss the rest of the year with season-ending injuries. You need to drop them from every league you have outside of dynasty leagues. Hopefully, they both return in 2016 and get back to the level of play they're both capable of.
Colts WR Andre Johnson
The Colts' offense did well against the Falcons without starting quarterback Andrew Luck, who's expected to miss several more weeks of action due to a lacerated spleen. However, wide receiver Andre Johnson did nothing as Matt Hasselbeck rarely even looked his way. He now has just one grab for 13 yards on two targets in his last two games as Donte Moncrief and a now-healthy T.Y. Hilton are getting the bulk of the targets.
Even seldom-used backup Griff Whalen is getting more looks (14 targets over last three games) than Johnson, who isn't worth a roster spot as you head down the stretch in your fantasy league.
