There's a Bengals jersey with the No. 14 being displayed in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and it's not the uniform once worn by Kenny Anderson.
How? What? Why?
Two things happened on Sunday:
1) The Bengals beat the Steelers, in Pittsburgh, securing a franchise-best 7-0 record.
2) Quarterback Andy Dalton tied Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino, Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan for most career road wins (23) by a starting quarterback through their first five seasons.
As a result, the Hall of Fame is displaying Dalton's game-worn jersey from Cincinnati's 16-10 win over the Steelers on Sunday.
(Many thanks to the Pro Football Hall of Fame for the picture)
Dalton wasn't particularly good this weekend, completing 23 of 38 passes for 231 yards with a touchdown and two picks (all in the fourth quarter), but as the cliche goes... a win is a win.
Despite two careless fourth quarter interceptions, the Steelers failed to capitalize and Dalton led his offense on an electric fourth-quarter charge, resulting in A.J. Green's go-ahead touchdown with 2:57 remaining in the game. Mike Nugent added a 44-yard field goal with 1:47 remaining, thanks to a Ben Roethlisberger interception -- he also had two in the fourth quarter.
Cincinnati has four road games remaining (SNF in Arizona, Cleveland, SNF in San Francisco and a MNF game in Denver), giving Dalton several opportunities to claim sole possession on the career road win milestone (after five seasons in a starting quarterback's career).
